WHO WE ARE – HISTORY OF OUR HOTEL

The foundation for Hotel Ohr was actually laid by the parents of Hannes Ohr.
Agnes and Johann Ohr opened a small inn with just 4 tables in 1951. One year later, an extra dining room was added. Gasthaus Ohr boasted the first public television and the first jukebox in the provincial capital, Eisenstadt.

But the Hotel Ohr we know today is very much the work of Ingrid and Hannes Ohr, who took over this once so small Gasthaus in 1976 and had expanded it so much only ten years later. Hotel Ohr offers you quality on every level: cuisine, service, rooms, opportunities for seminars, celebrations and weddings, as well as an outdoor restaurant, parking and a sense of friendly hospitality.

Today, we continue to be a family business. Our son, Johann, after apprenticing at Grand Hotel Sauerhof and successfully earning his head chef credentials, now wields the “scepter” in our kitchen. Brigitte Oberzaucher, the daughter of the house, graduated from tourism college and is now working in guest services.
On October 1st 2013, Brigitte Oberzaucher and Johannes Ohr took over the reins, the third generation of the family to run this business. They are excited to host their guests with their own brand of fresh energy and enthusiasm.
