About us - History of the Hotel

The cornerstone for the Hotel Ohr was laid by the parents of Hannes Ohr. Agnes and Johann Ohr opened a tavern with four tables in 1953. One year later an extra small room was added. Little later, the Ohr-tavern had the first public TV and the first music box in Eisenstadt.

The Hotel Ohr as it is today is the work of Ingrid and Hannes Ohr, who have taken over the small tavern in 1976 and who have enlarged it considerably ten years later. The Hotel Ohr is offering you the best quality in all departments: cuisine, service, rooms, organization of seminars, galas or weddings, our patio, parking places and of course our know-how and our hospitality.

Today, we still are a family-run hotel. Johannes Ohr jun. has completed his years of apprenticeship at the Grand Hotel, Sauerhof and after his head-cook exam has become our Chef de Cuisine. The daughter of the house, Brigitte Oberzaucher, has completed her Tourism College at the Semmering and is part of our service-team.
